The Biology of Pain
While pain is not a pleasant session it is a very helpful and necessary biological function that protects and preserves us. Pain is your body’s alarm system designed to bring your attention to a problem or potential danger. It’s only when it becomes chronic that many people dread this otherwise normal bodily function. Typically, pain becomes chronic when either the cause is not addressed properly in the beginning or continuing issues that assault negatively impact the nervous system, sensitizing and constantly triggering it, even if there is no danger or the initial trauma has passed.
